Two years ago Zola Mkhize was producing Amapiano tracks in a home studio in Johannesburg. Today she's booked at international festivals. Here's how she made the leap.
When Zola Mkhize joined World of Musicians in 2024, she had a small but devoted local following and a folder of unfinished tracks. What she didn't have was a clear path to industry contacts outside South Africa.
Through the platform's Artists Directory, a European festival booker discovered her profile and reached out directly — leading to her first international booking within four months.
Since then, Zola has produced three chart-entering singles, built a five-person production collective, and played her first international dance event. She still credits the directory's discoverability features as the turning point.
"I didn't need a manager to get seen," she said. "I needed the right people to be able to find me. That's what changed everything."
